CHINA'S RAILWAYS
IMPORTANT CONCESSION TO A BRITISH FIRM. (By Telegraph.—Press AsaocljtUon.—Copyrlght.) (Received April 3, 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, 2nd April. : The Morning Post's Pekin correspond' ent states that a British iirm has obtained the Nanking-Hunan Railway concession, the most important ever granted to a British firm. This stops the Japanese project of 4 railway from Fukien into the YangtsZe* Valley, and secures British control of the most important lines in the Canton, Hankow, and Shanghai triangle. Control of the entire Shanghai- Ningpo railway is only a matter of time.
