NORTH POLAR TRIP AMUNDSEN'S PLANS STAYED.
(By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright.) (Received April 2, 11 a.m.) SAN FRANCISCO, Ist April. Captain Amundsen has stayed his preparations for the North Polar trip owing to the delayed arrival of the Fram, which is en route here. [A message published yesterday from Christiania stated that Captain AmUndsen was depending on a further Government grant towards his Polar expedition. Ho requires £40,000, and statedihat he would give up the expedition unless he was supported.]
