PROVOCATIVE MEASURES MR. CHURCHILL ACCUSED.
(Received March 31, 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, 30th March. In the House of Commons, on the third reading of the Consolidated Fund Bill, Mr. F. E. Smith (Unionist), accused Mr. Churchill of taking provocative measures, and said that when lie made his Bradford speech he wag' aware tha,t instructions had been sent to General Sir Arthur Paget (Commander-in-Cliief in Ireland). Later, lie had given orders to move the fleet to Ireland. Mr. Churchill said Sir Edward Carson had raised a rebellion greater than the police could cope with, ond^ that the Opposition leaders •were striving to prevent the Government from putting down the revolution. Lor<J Morley, in the House of Lords, promised a full statement regarding his own position to-morrow. $ 5n the House of Lords, replying to Lord Salisbury Lord Morley admitted that reinforcements were promised Sir Arthur Paget, which included a naval military force from England and two Irish divisions. The Ministerial Whip states that an important debate on the position of the Army will arise to-day, and a very important division may occur.
