The Bank of New Zealand has received | a cable message regarding the sheepskin market to the following effect: — ''The market is strong for all kinds of sheepskins. Prices are 7£ per cent, to 10 per cent, higher." j Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Wellington, have received cable advice from their London office, dated 26th inst., as follows: — Frozen Ment.— -Market quiet. Lamb : Since our last wire prices are I lower by id to Id per lb. Mutton : Market weak, but uihout quotable change. i Beef : Any change in price is in favour i of buyers. Sheepskins.— As compared with last sales' closing rafe-i, merino skins are |d per lb higher, crossbred skins £<1 per lb higher. Tallow. — Prices generally are 3d to 6d per cwt lower.
The Court of Appeal opens in Wellington on Monday, 6th April, at 11 a.m. The attention of singers is called to an advertisement in this iasue notifying that there are vacancies for tenor and bass voices in the Wellington Liedertafel. The society is desirous of adding to it» strength in view of the celebration this year of its twenty-first season.
