The 'Matin has published a letter, alleged to have been sent by Rochette to M. Jaures, in which Rochette explains that the postponement of the trial was sought because his revelations of the methods of French financiers might embarrass the Government with the people. He was prepared to submit to arrest if thereby the truth could be established. It is believed that Rochette is now in England.
