MURDER OF SHEVKET PASHA
BASRI BEY PARDONED. (By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright.) (Received March 27, 8.10 a.m.) CONSTANTINOPLE, 26th March. The Sultan has pardoned Basri Bey for his connection with the murder of the Grand Vizier Shevket Pasha. [A court-martial sentenced Sadik Bey to death and Basri Bey and a hodja (priest) named Sabri to imprisonment for life in connection with the assassination of the Grand Vizier, Mahmoud Shevket Pasha, in June last.] OFFICER SENTENCED TO DEATH. CONSTANTINOPLE, 26th March. The court-martial sentenced Aziz Bey to death for reviving the Arab resistance in Cyrenaica after Enver Bey's departure.
