WHY THE MOVEMENT WAS CANCELLED
DISINGENUOUS MR CHURCHILL. (Received March 26, 10 a,m.) LONDON, 25th May. Mr. Churchill, in the House of Commons, in Teply to Lord Charles Beresford, 6ai<i a squadron was ordered to Lamlash to deal with possible serious disorders on Saturday night, bnt a precautionary movement of the troops was carried out without opposition, therefore he cancelled the movement of the ships. (Ministerial cheers.) The Admiral in command asked for field guns in order to exercise the men ashore if the weather was bad. (Opposition laughter.)
