HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. The Fuller-Brennan Vaudeville Combination has an attractive programme at His Majesty's Theatre this week. An amusing Western skit is provided by Captain Brunswick and Co. Valentine and Bell give a clever exhibition of trick cycling. Another entertaining turn is that provided by Cunningham and Rose. THE KING'S THEATRE. ' An attraction at The King's Theatre at present is the famous Players Comi pany's detective drama, "Ono Hour Before Dawn." The plot is a stirring one, and the acting is convincing. "Zuza, the Bandmaster, " is a clever comedy skit by «the Keystone Company. Last i night a local film depicting Scotland's I aeroplane flight at Athletic Park was i screened. It will be shown throughout I thfo week. The usual matinee will be held on Saturday, commencing at 2.30 p.m. THE EMPRESS THEATRE. At the head of the new programme toI day of the Empress Theatre continuous pictures is the Xaiem Company's society drama "The Shadow of Guilt." The play opens with a wealthy financier, ■ Henry Van Dam, demanding settlement from one of his clients who has gambled 1 beyond his means x>n the Stock Exchange. The latter is so worried that he suddenly collapses and expires. Van Dam is conscience-stricken, and to make amends in some way, > he engages the dead man's son as his secretary. Emily Varden, Van Dam's niece, who has been adopted by her uncle, desires to marry a suitor who is disliked by Van Dam. Thu financier declares that if Emily does not discard her fiance he will disinherit her. Nevertheless Emily decides to wed the man of her own choice so she elopes with him. Van Dam then alters his will in favour of his secretary. Emily and her husband fall upon evil times, and her uncle refijses her assistance unless she leaves her husband. This she refuses to do. Van Dam then decides to go abroad, but his better nature prompts him to alter his will again in Emily's favour. He is then stricken with heart seizure, and the secretary steals the new codicil so that he still remains the sole heir. After an exciting climax all comes right in the end and Van Dam recovers and does justice to all. Supplementary to the "feature" are "Canine Traction in the Belgian Army," "Tenderfoot's Money" (A.B. drama), "The Vapour Bath" (farcecomedy), and "Billy's Birthday Present" (Selig's "feature" comedy). THE NEW THEATRE. A variety of subject's comprised th« change of programme to-day at the lew Theatre. The leading production is Selig's detective drama "The Finger Print." "The Eclair Journal" shows attractive topical happenings in England and on the Continent. The others include "The Flower Girl" (Rex drama), "The Bearer of Burdens" (Lubin drama), and "A Frustrated Romance" (comedy). SHORTT'S THEATRE. Shortt's Theatre was well patronised to-day, when a new series was presented. The star picture is "Within the Enemy's Lines," an Edison drama, with a plot of engrossing interest founded on the American Civil War. Colonel Stafford, a soldier of iron nerve, is in charge of a great Southern army when Christmas dawns, but determines to give his children a real Christmas. Attired as a peddler he sets out for home. He is recognised in spite of his garb by Colonel Denny, of the Union Army, and in charge , of a file of soldiers Colonel Denny enters Stafford's house. Little Bob Stafford knows that unless his father is captured in his uniform he will be shot, and obtains one, saving his father from a cruel fate. Another feature picture is "Too Many Brides," and the supporting films are interesting. PEOPLE'S PICTURE PALACE. The n&w programme at the People's Picture Palace to-day is composed of films of a high standard. The most noteworthy of these is "A, Highland Romance," a story of love and adventure in. the Highlands. The drama abounds in situations full of excitement, and the climax makes a strong appeal to patrons. Another drama is "A. Western Sistcr'e Devotion," in which is featured Broncho Billy. One of the comic 6 is, entitled "The Village Choir," a picture distinctly" above the average in this department. The programme will be repeated this evening. THE BRITANNIA. To-day's new programme at the Britannia is a varied one. The "star" attraction is "Trapped in a Forest Fire," a story of love and adventure in the mountain, districts of North-west America. In this film actual forest fires are depicted. A novelty by the Keystone Company is "How Moving Pictures Are Made." Two comedy subjecto of special mention are — "How Bobby Called Her Bluff" by the Edison Company, and "Mary Jane," a Western Vitagraph film. "Convalescent" ie a Lubin story of an appealing nature. STAR THEATRE, NEWTOWN. To-night's programme will be star featured by the drama "The Suffragette."* ST. THOMAS-S HALL. The change of programme at St. Thomas's Hall to-night includes many attractive pictures. Principal are "Snow White," "The Senorita's Repentance,"' "Picturesque France," and "The New Sheriff." OLYMPIA SKATING RINK. The chief attraction at Olympia Rink to-nighfc is the Ladies' Graceful Skating Competition for those who have neverpreviously won a prize. On Saturday 1 afternoon -the band will be present.
