EXETER DISASTER
EVIDENCE AT INQUEST SIGNAL DEMONSTRATION. (By Telegraph.— Press Atsociatloti.— Copyright.) SYDNEY, 23rd March. At the inquest into the railway disaster at Exeter. Mr. Lucy, the Chief Mechanical Engineer, estimated that the speed of the mail train was fifteen to twenty miles per hour. An expert signaller stated at a demonstration to the jury that the mixed signal had shown the distant signal at "Clear" and the home signal at " Danger."
