POULTRY INDUSTRY
"It is understood that arrangements a^e in progress to give a considerable fillip to the poultry industry, which has not been receiving over-much attention of late. The constitution of the Board of Agriculture provided for by an Act passed last session contains the idea that consideration shall be given to the poultry industry in connection with the ap- | ! pointmentß. and it is probable thai a well-known poultry man from Ashburton will be appointed to a seat on the board. Further, it is suggested that in the near future arrangements will be made to have an instructor appointed for the South Island, in order to develop in that part of the Dominion an industry which has already made considerable strides, and which, it is thought, only requires consideration to achieve a very* muoh larger measure of development. '
