UPPER HUTT STOCK SALE
Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held' their fortnightly sale in the Upper Hutt yards on Thursday, when a heavy yarding of both shtfep and cattle canib forward. "Buyers attended in satisfactory numbers, and for sheep very animated bidding took place, prices all through being much in vendor*' favour. Wethers were especially well competed for, a» were also good lambs and breeding ewes. We disposed of every line under the hammer to ( animated competition. Cattle mek with a slightly dragging sale, but at the end of the day we succeeded in disposing 0* most of our entry. Prices wpi<e as under :— 2, and 4 tooth wethetts, 17s Id to 176 8d; 2-tooth to vf.f.m. ewes. 14s to , 15s 3d ; ewe lambs, lls Id ; good Shorn lambs, 9a Id to 10s; small shorn lambs, 6s 10d to 7s 2d j store ewes, 8s 7d. A line of prime fat ewes made 1 tho satisfactory price of 19s 7d. Lincoln and Romuey 2»tooth rams, l^d to 2 guineas. Cattle :-"Oood springing cows, £10 j good springing heifers. <C 7 16s to £9 ; cows in milk, £7 to £10; store cows, £3 to £3 I.'js; cows in calf, £4 3s * yeailing cattle. £2 55."
