PICTON'NELSON SEItVICE.-EASTER, - TIMETABLE. An Easter timetable for the Wellington-Plcton-Nelson service has been arranged. The Pateena, leavihg Wellington on the Oth April and Nelson on the 7th April, will call at iPicton each way Instead of proceeding direct, as usual. The Mapourika will not leave Wellington for Picton on Monday, 6th April, but will leave ou Tuesday, 7th April, for Picton, Nelson, and Westport, returning via sailing from Nelson on the 9th April for Wellington direct. On that day the Pateena will leave Nelson on Thursday morning for WMlington in order to leave here the same night for Picton and Nelson, The Mapourika will proceed from Wellington on Saturday, 11th April, to Nelson, returning on Monday, 13th April, to Picton and Wellington, and will leave Wellington on her next trip on Tuesday, 14th April, for Picton. Nelson, Westport, and Greyinolith. The Pateena, leaving Wellington on Monday, 13th April, will proceed to Nelson, via Pictou. THE HAWKES BAY. Messrs. Bannatyhe and Co. advise that the liner Hawkes Bay is not due in Wellington from Lyttelton until next Thursday. She will complete loading here, and is fixed to Sail for London the following Sunday. Intimation has been received by the local agents for the A. and A, Line to the effect that the chartered steamer Whakarua sailed from New York on Sunday last for Wellington, via Australian ports arid Auckland. She is due here about the ilrst week in June. STORY OF A MUTINY. The British four-masted barque Philadelphia, ! in distress, put into fan Francisco just before i the mail steamer Ventura hailed for Sydney. The captain (Henry Lawrence) s>aid the Philadelphia left the Columbia River on 2nd December bound tor Queenstowti, Ireland. Three days out heavy weather win encountered. The steering gear became disabled, and the crew insisted that the vessel be put about. When their orders were ignored they overpowered the captain in his cabin. The men deserted the forecastle, and established themselves in the after Dart of the vessel. Acting under their subordinateo 1 orders, the mate, second mate, and the boatswain assisted m navigating the ship to San Francisco. They were divested of all authority. Captain Lawrence stated on arrival at San Francisco that he only wanted to get rid of the crew and pioeeed on his journey. The case was being investigated by the British Consul-general at San Francisco at latest advices. NAIRNSHIRE'S PROGRAMME ALTERED. As there Is a likelihood of congestion at this port next week, the loading programme of the F. ,'md S, Line's steamer Nairnshirc bus been altered. Originally it was intended that the vessel should proceed from Gisborne to' Lyttelton, and then come ou to Wellington to complete operations, sailing for Avonmouth on the 2Gth March. According to present airaiiKenients, however, the steamer is to arrivu here to-day, and after taking in the local portion of her Home cargo, will sail for Lyttelton about Wednesday next. Final departure for Avonmouth, via Las Palmas, will be taken from the southern port on the ZBth March. The Huddart'Parker Company's steamer Westralla, which left Wellington on Monday last for northern ports, was delated at Napier by bad weather, and did not clear that port until Wednesday, She continued hor trip from Gfisborne lale on Wednesday, iind arrived at Auckland shortly before midnight yesterday — nearly a day late. She will be despatched for southern ports as usual to-morrow afternoon.
