QUALL AND AN IMPROVEMENTS

A squall area passed in the vicinity of Cook Strait last night and the conditions have been unsettled, and are still so on the east coast of the North Island. Residents of Wellington noticed this occurrence at midnight last night, and there was much rising from beds to close windows against driving rain. Ifc is expected that there will be a spell of cool and changeable weather generally, with showers along the coast, but otherwise an improvement may be looked for. A fine week-end at Wellington is expected.
