•m — TWO BATTLESHIPS PROGRAMME. (By Telegraphs— Press Association.— Copyriitafc.) WASHINGTON, 24th February. The Naval Affairs Committee approved the Administration's two-battleships programme, but reduced the number of proposed destroyers from eight to six. A twelve-hundred-ton submarine is included in the Estimates, which total £28,000,000. The building of a number of submarines for the Pacific Coast protection is authorised.
