♦ MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE RETURN AUSTRALIAN MATCH. At a meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Cricket Association last evening, advice. was received from the New Zealand Cricket Council that a proposal for a return match with the Australians on 20th and 21st March had been approved. A letter was received from Mr. D. Reese (Christchurch), stating that he would bring a strong Canterbury team to play Wellington on Good Friday, Easter Saturday, and Eastei' Monday (10th, 11th, and 13th, April). , • It was decided to asil permission of the .City Council to make a charge for both matches, The Basin Reserve being in use by the Athletic Association on Saturday next, senior matches will be played oti the Wellington College ground. AUCTION & PKOPERTY SALES The auction sale of the wholjs of the land at Day's Bay has been fixed for Wednesday, 11th March, at Messrs. W. H. Turnbull ahd Co.'s auction room, 27, Panama-street, at 8 p.m. An advertisement in another column shows that th© whole of the nativie forest, <fompriß« ing 620 acres, is being offered for sale, together with the pavilion, having a frontagie of about 120 ft, sixteen sections, perfectly loviel, which is the subdivision of the hockey ground, fourteen sections with frontage to Pitoitoi-road, thirty sectiohs frontihg Kotari-ioad and ICovi-mako-road.
