Wilson Carlile, Prebendary of St. Paul's, and head of the Church Army Pollco Court and Prisongato Missions, while going to Buckingham Palace, was stopped at the gates by an expickpocket, who had been reclaimed, and who asked Mr. Carlile to show the King a Post Office Savings Bank book containing £J2B. The King heartily commended the work of the Army, saying : "I feel the greatest sympathy for those who have made a slip in life, and who, now without means and character, are working their way back to good citizenship. "
