N.S.W. FAIR RENTS BILL DISCUSSION AT LABOUR CONFERENCE IMPEACHMENT OF MR. GRIFFITH. (By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright.) (Received February 11, 11.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. At the final sitting of th© Labour Conference, speaking on. the Fair Rents Bill, Mr. Fitzgerald said it was a clumsy device at best, although a necessary one. The committee submitted a report that a Bill similar to tho measure previously submitted bo introduced as a first measure in Parliament this year. The report was adopted by an overwhelming majority. , . The committee appointed to investigate the charges against Mr. Griffith (Minister for Public Works) submitted its report, and by 81 votes to 3 the Conference impeached Mr. Griffith on a charge of having failed to pay the rates provided by Federal award governing builders' labourers. It was decided to make representations to the Premier for the immediate payment of award rates. A motion, was carried by 72 to 10 for the compulsory notification of venereal diseases, the provision of dispensaries, systematic periodic examination, and free distribution of certain remedies by the hospitals.
