CRICKET
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE THE AUSTRALIAN MATCH. A meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Cricket Association last evening was attended by Messrs. C. G. Wilson (chairman), C. Hickson, M. J. Crombie, F. A. Midlane, F. Martin, J. Fanning, and E. M. Beechey (secretary). Tlie principal business of the evening was in regard to arrangements for the match with the Australian Eleven, commencing on Friday next. The Mayor is to be asked to invite citizens to observe a half-holiday on Friday, and a similar request is to be made to the Minister for Internal Affairs in regard to the Civil Service. The charge for admission will be Is up to 4.30 p.m., and 6d thereafter. Boys under fifteen years of age will be admitted free. It was decided to inform the Manawatu Association that a team could not be sent to Palmerston North on 28th February, as senior matches will have to be played here on that date. A letter from the Town Clerk asked that the Wellington Association should notify him on Ist October in each year of the engagements on the Basin Reserve for the ensuing season. It was decided to reply that the suggestion was impracticable.
