POLICE DUTIES ON SUNDAYS
DUNEDIN, 10th February. At to-day's meeting of the Dunedin Presbytery, the Rev. A. Whyte, on behalf of the Committee on Sabbath Observance, reported with regard to the question of Sunday employment of policemen. He intimated that the Inspector of Police t had stated that the present leave which allowed policemen one Sunday in > four off duty was the maximum which tho strength of the Force would permit. The Presbytery decided to memorialise the Minister of Justice, requesting that fuller facilities should be given to policemen for enjoying the freedom of tho Sabbath Day.
