The tango craze ib abating* Leaders of society condemn it as a dance, describing it as " moral death." and have barred it at West End dances. It also is distinctly less populav in the music halls. NEW YORKERS APPROVE. j ENGLISH DANCES BEING SUBSTITUTED. (Received January 6, 10 a.m.) LONDON, sth January. Following interviews with l^ondon so« ciety leaders on the banning of the tango the Chronicle publishes opinions of leading New Yorkers approving thedance, though admitting that some forms of it were objectionable. Cardinal Farley's opposition has caused the cancellation of a number of balls in New York, including one at the Catholic Institute, to which six hundred had been invited. SeVeral of the London restaurants are substituting English dances, notably the minuet.
