The steamer Oklahoma sank off Sandy Hook._ Twenty-four of the crew perished and eight were saved. According to a wireless message, the Hamburg-Amerika freight steamer Bavaria rendered assistance, taking off those who were saved. The vessel disappeared before the others could be saved. Particulars are lacking. [The Oklahoma, a steel vessel of 5853 tons gross, and owned by the Gulf Refining Company, was built in 1908. Hoi* port of registry was Port Arthur, U.S.]
