INVITATION TO GERMAN TEAM AUSTRALIA'S CHALLENGE FOR DAVIS CUP. (By Telegraph.— Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received December 18, 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The proposal that a team of German tennis players should visit Australasia has been revived. Tho difficulties which prevented the visit this year having been removed, the Tennis Association has therefore decided to ask the German Association to send four players to tour Australia and possibly New Zealand towards the end~of next year. The association will also malce the preliminary arrangements for the Davis Cup matches next year. A challenge has been forwarded to the United States Association. Brookes, Hicks, and Anderson have been elected a selection committee. A cheque for £894 has been received as Australia's share of the Davis Cup match, and £120 is still to come.
