m NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIPS Excellent entries have been received for the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association championship meeting to be held at Auckland at the end of the present month. Mr. R. N. K. Swanston, of Wellington, will defend his singles championship title against such redoubtable opponents as Ollivier, Fisher, and Goss. Neither Miss Hartgill, of Dannevirke, nor Miss Travers, of Wellington, will be able to be present, but Miss Gray, the holder of the ladies' singles championship, will take part in the tournanient. The entries for ,the various championship events are : — Ladies' doubles, 6 ; ladies' singles, 11 ; combined doubles, 11 ; men's singles, 31 ; men's doubles, 18. The tournament is to be controlled by Mr. A. J. Pethenck, secretary of the New Zealand Association, who leaves for Auckland to-morrow.
