COLLAPSED TUNNEL
RAILWAY ACCIDENT IN GERMANY PANIC AMONGST PASSENGERS DEAD FEARFULLY MUTILATED. (By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright.) (Received December 17, 8.50 a.m.) BERLIN, 16th December. When the Harrasfelsen tunnel collapsed at Brainsdorf, the ttain was travelling at a high speed, and the debris was not noticed. The engine mounted upwards and struck the top of the tunnel. Masses of masonry collapsed, and six coaches were telescoped. Panic amongat the passengers followed, and in the darkness several were tmmpled to death whilst attempting to burrow a way out of the debris. Nine of the dead were fearfully mutilated, and fifteen were dangerously injured. » *
