H.M.S. NEW ZEALAND
OFFICERS AND CREW WELCOMED HOME. (By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright.) (Received December 17, 2 p.m.) > LONDON, 16tii December. Prince Louis of Battenberg, the City Sheriffs and Wardens,' masters of several companies, and many prominent New Zealanders were present when the Hon. T. W. Mackenzie, High Commissioner for New Zealand, bade Captain Halsey and tho officers and crew of H.M.S. New Zealand " .welcome home." Their work,' said Mr. Mackenzie, had been wellvdone. He estimated that during the tour the officers were made members of 150 clubs and attended 75 dances, but there was the more serious side. Like Drake, Captain Halsey had circumnavigated the. globe, but Captain Halsey's voyage was a mission of peace and goodwill. The peoples overseas disliked the idea of militarism, but felt that they must take a share of Imperial responsibility.
