ST. ANNE'S SCHOOL
m» • BREAKING-UP CEREMONY. The breaking-up ceremony in connection with St. Anne'e Convent School took place in St. Anne's Hall last ovening. T*he ha|£ was packed, those present including His Grace Archbishop O'Shea and the^Ven- Archdeacon Devoy, S.M., both of wherii addressed the children Before, the prizes were presented the students gave an entertaining operetta, "The Crystal Queen." Those taking part were : Misses Lena Roblneon, Lily O'Leary, Mary Gormley, Kathleen Maloney, Eileen Ryan, Etnel 'Lingard, El}a Gamble^ Unice Bezer, Mary Robinson, Winifnde Wallace, Nellie Davis, Annie Hutcheeon, Elsie Kraua, and Eileen Maloney. The junior pupils, under the, direction of Miss Doris Guise, executed, a scarf danca with pleasing effect, and Master N. Liardet gave two enjoyable recitations. The prize-list ie appended : — Qhristian Doctrine.— Senior division : Gold medal Constance Fuller. Junior division: Silver medal, Ella Gamble; prize, Mary Robinson, Edith Nelson, Good Conduct. — Senior division : Medal (gift of Yen. Arch. Devoy), N. M'Enirny. Junior division : M. Gillon. Standard Vl.— Dux of the School, C. Robinson j highest marks, C. Robinson; reading, K. Maloney; arithmetic, E. Maloney; geography, W. Wallace; needlework, E. Kraus; diligence, R. Daly; competition, E. Gillon ; writing, A. Hutcheson ; English, P. Nash ; reading and recitation, N. Davies; science, N. M'lnerny. Eleven pupils were presented at examination, and 11 passed, nine gained proficiency, and two competency, Standard V. — Highest marks, XI. Bezar ; general excellence, C. Fuller ; composition and English, M. Twomey; writing and reading, I. Mackay ; drawing, 0. Lennon, Standard IV. — Highest marks, M. Gormley; reading and recitation, 'A. Robinson; arithmptic, M Cotter. Standard 111, — Highest marks, L. Robinson j arithmetic, M. Fitzgibbon ; composition, E. Ryan ; reading, M. Nash.; spelling, E, Carter; writing, E. Lee. , Standard • II. — Highest marks, T.
