DOMINION AWARD ■ ' '■ ■'■♦ IN CARPENTERS' DISPUTE. INCREASE IN WAGES. (BY TELEQRArU— PRESS ASSOCIATION.) DUNEDIN, This Day. The Arbitration Court has filed its award in the Otago carpenters' dispute. It applies to th© whole of tho Dominion immediately the present awards expire. The effect of tho award is that wages hay© been increased one shilling per day ; hours hay© been fixed at forty-four per week j factories are exempt now j apprentices are awarded an extra halfcrown per week ; boys gaining certificates from technical schools 2s per week extra for the last two years ; apprentices are limited to one to ©very thre© workers ; underrate workers, one to ©very three fully-paid journeymen or fraction of three after the first three ; those engaged in country work receive 2s per day extra, instead of one shilling, as before.
