„ CITY ENGINEER TO PLAN • DEVELOPMENT. Tho council was in no mood to discuss at length the important report of tho Reserves Committee last evening— that it had instructed the City Engineer to forthwith plot on a survey plan of the Town Belt : — (a) All such areas as are suitable for tho formation of playing grounds; (b) the areas of such proposed grounds ; (c) the future streets or pathways likely to be required "to give access to and over the Town Belt j (d) the areas to be set apart for planting of trees. Councillor M'Kenzie congratulated the committee on their wisdom at last in taking such a step. The report was adopted without further discussion.
