♦ COUNCIL ASKS ITS POSTPONEMENT. The Victoria College Council held a special meeting last night, Mr. H. H. Ostler presiding. Other members present were: — Sh Robert Stout, Dr. Prendergast Knight, Messrs. W. FergusOn, A. T. Maginnity, T. R. Fleming, and C. Watson. ' The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the provisions of the Victoria College Amendment Bill. After discussion, a motion was proposed by Sir Robert Stout that the Government be respectfully requested to postpone the Bill nntii.pext session. This was carried, on a division by four votes to three.
