WANGANUI AGRICULTURAL ASSOCIATION
One of the mosb pleasant and popular trips for hoh'day-m&kers is an excursion to Wanganui, whose beautiful surroundings and grand river scenery always appeal to_ those in quest of enjoyment. The best time to visit Wanganui is the spring, when the country looks its best and when also the annual show is being held. -This takes place on 19th and 20th November, and this year's gathering promises to eclipse all previous local events. There are amongst the horse section competitions for all breeds and classes, and in nearly all instances the prize-money has been supplemented by valuable trophies. It is anticipated that two score of competitors will be out in the jumping contests. The choice breeds in cattle and sheep are all iwell represented, and the Wanganui Kennel Club's exhibition -of dogs is claimed to be superior to any other in the North Island! There are 470 classes for every breed, variety, and age. In the domestic classes, farm .produce, cookery, and needlework, are well catered for, while "the displays of art and metal work and the public school children's exhibits are attractive and instructive. " Entries close on sth November at 9 p.m. with the secretary, Mr. Selby Morton, Box 152, Wanganui.
