EMPLOYERS' FEDERATION ANNUAL CONFERENCE.
The annual conference of the Now Zealand Employers' Federation commenced its deliberations this morning under' tho presidency of Mr. W. Hopkirk. Delefates present, representing the associate ranches of the federation, were as follow: Auckland, Messrs. E. lA. Craig, G. A. Coles, W. J. Jaggs, and Hi WJ Hudson; Poverty Bay, Mr. Jame« Brown; Hawkes Bay, Messrs. P. Barry, H. J. Bull, S. E. Wright (secretary); Wairarapa, Mr. C. At Tabutoau , (secretary); Wanganui, Messrs. G. Caiman and J. W. Williams (secretary) ; Manawatu, Messrs. C. F. Johnston, F. J. Nathan, and W. M'Kenzie (secretary) ; Feilding, Mi 1 . F. Pirani ; Wellington,' Messro. T. Ballinger, J. Godber, W. J. Thompson, and W. A. W. Grenfell (secretary) terbury, Messrs. H. D. Acland, J. A. Fwwfcick, F-. W. Hobbs, K. F. England, and J. R. HaywaTd; South Canterbury, Messrs. R. R. Bowie and W. G. Fuller; and tho freezing companies by Mr. W. G. Foster. Messrs. W. H. Bennett and W. A. Flavell (trustees), Mr. R. A. Scott (treasurer), Mr. W. Pryor (general secretary), Mr. N., M'Kobie (assistant secretary), and Miv R. A. Armstrong (organiser)' were also in attendance. In welcoming the delegates the president expressed the hop© that the conference would result in benefiting mem* bers of the Federation and the Do« minion as a whole. In moving adoption of the annual ro« port and balatice^Bheet, which waa carried, the president congratulated the Federation on the results secured in connection with the organising and defence fund campaign. He appealed for further assistance and hoped that there would be no 'going back. With regard to Parliamentary industrial legislation, the president said that the time had' more than come for a cessation of tho burdena thai, were being placed on employers of labour. A sub-committee consisting of Messrs. W. J. Jaggs, W. H. Bennett, H. D. Acland, G. Simpson, and W. Scott was set up to consider the question of the nomination of employers' representative* on tho Arbitration Court and report U the meeting as early as possible. (Proceeding. )
