At the trial of the Jewish clerk Beiliss for the murder of the boy Yuschchinsky, Singayevsky,' Vera Cheberiak's brother, of whom it was alleged by two detectives that ho and two others killed the boy, denied that ho ever saw Yuschchinsky. He also denied confessing his share m the murder. ■ Rudzinsky (one of his alleged accomplices) denied all knowledge of the* woman Vera. Both men stated that they had voluntarily confessed to the robbery which had been committed on the night of Yuschchinsky's disappearance, lest they should be accused of the murder, but were silent wheh counsel for the defence asked how the former crime precluded tho latter.
