At the Navy League banquet, at the Hotel Cecil, Earl Bras&ey, in proposing the toast, "The Imperial Forces," said all knew that assiduous offorte were being made to prepare the Navy for any call which might arise. NAVY LEAGUE PRONOUNCEMENT. IMPERIAL DEFENCE. CLOSER RELATIONSHIP NEEDED. LONDON, 22nd October. The Navy League has addressed a pronouncement on the naval situation to the people of the Empire, in which it declares that the time has arrived for the establishment of closer relationship in Imperial defence. It urges the Imperial Government to take steps immediately to promote closer co-operation with her sister nations and to create a central Imperial Council to deal with problems of the Empire's naval .defence. The pronouncement advocates a standard of two' keele to one in capital ships against the next strongest nation, also the creation of an Imperial squadron it, show that tho British flag is able to enforce diplomatic rights in any paxt of the .world.
