LODGE MEETINGS

At this week's meeting of Court Lady Glasgow, No. 8261, A.0.F., C.R. Sister Mumford presided. There was a large attendance of members. The quarterly balance-sheet was read by the secretary, received and confirmed. It showed the court to be making great progress, , both as to funds and membership. The secretary, in drawing attention to tho largo number of members (23) initiated during the quarter, remarked that this was the oxact membership of the court whon it started in. April, 1894. Notice was received that the* district officers would visit the court next lodge night. The resignation of Dr. Holmes, one of tho court surgeons, was accepted, and it was decided to obtain the servioes of another medical officer in his place. Two candidates were proposed for admittance next court night. Court Sir William Jervois, A.0.F., held its fortnightly meeting in St. Thomas's School, Nowtown, on Tuesday night. It was resolved to meet at 7.30 next court night on account of the card tourney against Court Robin Hood taking place that night. It was .resolved to mako an offioial visit to Court Sir Georgo Bowen on the 20th, when tho district officers will mako their annual visit. Two members wero added to the roll of membership. Tho quarterly meeting of the Wellington District Lodge, No. 5, 1.0. G.T., was held in the Rechabito Chambers, Man-ners-street, last evening. Bro. N. Ingrain, D.C.T., _ presided. Four candidates were initiated into tho advanced degree. A notice of_ appeal from a sub-lodge was dealt with. A lengthy discussion i>nsued on a notioo of motion by Bro. Ingram, which was finally allowed to stand Over on condition that it was sent back to tho subordinate lodges in its amended form.

Messrs. E. Johnston and Co. advertise a sflAo of gear and material salvaged from tho Devon, to bo held at the Harbour Board J Shed, Waterloo-quay, to-morrow, cominenoing at I.SO.
