HUTT FLOWER SHOW
Both as regards tho quality and quantity of exhibits and the attendance of tho Sublic, the annual Spring Show of tho tutt Valley Horticultural Society-— brought to a conclusion at the Town Hall, Lower Hutt, last night — has been a record one. The remaining awards show that Mrs. E. Johnson secured tho judge's award in the decorated tables class, while the public vote in tho sama section was given to Mrs. W. Hendry (86 votes), with Miss G. Jenness (B<l votes) second. Miss Dorothy M'Donald secured the first prize in the chfldren's class for decorated tables. Mr. Robert Gibson was given a prize for having tho best long trumpet daffodil of tho show. In the cottage garden class, Mrs. A. M. Smith secured an award for her collection of spring flowers, while Mve. W. Hendry was second.
RECORD HILL CLIMB. The record hill climb for comnwvwial motor vehicles in Now Zealand stands fco the credit of the Argyll motor-lorry, which recently, iv the presence of a Government official and\ carrying a full load of two tons with four passengers aboard, mounted Reuben-avenue, Brooklyn, up a ruling grade o£, 1 in 3£. Several other makes of motor- lorry attempted the hill, but all failed. Argyll commercial motors arc on ordet for tho Wellington City Council, the Kelburnw Motor-bus Company, and several municipalities in the South Island. For full particulars apply J.
