CONSOLIDATED GOLDFIELDS. (by tblegeavh— pbess association.) REEFTON, sth September. The following are the crushing returns for August for the above company's group of properties, viz. : — The Progress, Wealth of Nations, and 1 Blackwater mines. Progress crushed 3300 tons, yielding 6020z 4dwt bullion, valued at £2482 16s 7d; cyanided 2600 tonß, yielding 2720z 19dwt bullion, valued at £917 15s lOd; estimated value of sulphurets produced (45 tons), £536; recovered from smelter 611oz 14dwt bullion, valued at £2539 lls lid ; cost per ton : — Mining 12s 2.05 d, milling (excluding re-treatment of old tails and disposal of concentrates) 3s 1.18 d; general expenses and bullion charges Is 7.33 d. Wealth qf Nations crushed 1620 tons, yielding 4550z 19dwt bullion, valued at £1884 lls lOd; cyanided 1100 tons, yielding 2240z 2dwt bullion, valued at £773 2s lid ; estimated value of sulphurets produced (12 tons), £64 ; cost per ton : — Mining 13s 9.82 d, milling (excluding disposal of concentrates) 6s 7.97 d; general expenses and bullion charges 2s 11.78 d —an increase of Is ,3d per ton nulled, due to repairs to mortar boxes; balance- duo to low tonnage crushed during August. The mill started full time on Ist September. Blackwater crushed 3872 tons, yielding 15370z 9dwt bullion, valued at ,£6217 0s Id; cyanided 2018 tone, yielding 950z lOdwt bullion, valued at £282 10s 5d : estimated value of sulphurets produced (39 tons), £474 ; cost per ton : ~Mining 14s 9.76 d, milling (excluding disposal of " concentrates) 3s 5.47 d; general' expenses and bullion charges 3s 0.26 d.
