LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL FRIDAY'S ' PROCEEDINGS. Tho Legislative Council met at 2.30 p.m. yesterday. METHODIST UNION. Ths Methodist Union Bill wasf committed, and its third reading mado an order of the day for ( Tuesday next. PENSIONS BILL. In moving the second reading of the Pensions Bill, the Hon. Mr. Bell said the Pensions Bill was a consolidating measure relating- to three separate matters : Old-age pensions, military, and widows' pensions. Under the new meajsnre an additional expense of at least £80,000 per year would be necessary. Substantial amendments were the reduction of the age to 60 for women's pensions and the repeal of all property or income limitatioljß with regard to military pensions. \ \ The Council adjourned at 4.55 piin.
