YESTERDAY'S SITTING HOUSE OF REPEESENTATIVES. The House continued its Bitting after Th© Post went to press yesterday afternoon. LOCAL BILLS. The ' Wellington City Empowering Amendment Bill (Hon. A. L. Herdman) was passed through Committee without discussion. The Gisborne Harbour Board Empowering Bill, the Wanganui Harbour District and Empowering Bill, the Westport Harbour Board Empowering Bill, the Westport Public Parks Vesting Bill and the Springs County Council Reclamation Bill pa&sed their second readings. MAGISTRATE'S COURTS. The amendments made by the Legislative Council in the Magistrate's Court Amendment Bill were brought up for approval. Mr. Wilford complained of the appointment of a clerk in the Magistrate « Court at Dannovirke, which he regarded as being made in breach of the regulations. The amendmenta were agreed to. BANK OF NEW ZEALAND. The Bank of New Zealand Bill was read a second time, pro forma, and referred to th« Pubiio Accounts Committee. IRRIGATION AND WATER-SUPPLY BILL. The Hon. W. F. Massey moved the second reading of the Irrigation and Water-Supply Bill, which proposes ,to empower the Government to raise £100,000 for the purpose of irrigation in Otago Central. The Hon. W. Frasar said he had no doubt that th* worl^ which was now in progress, would be' productive of good. It "would be completed next year. The second reading was agreed to on the voice*. LAND DRAINAGE. TKe Prime Minister moved the siecond reading of the Land Drainage Amendment Bill, the provisions of which have already been, fully explained. The second reading was agreed to on the voices. Tho House rose at 0.30 a.m. *.
