SNOW AHEAD

The season for overcoats and umbrellas has not yet terminated, the prospects as far as the weather is concerned being rather gloomy. The westerly dtorm area has spread all over Hevr Zealand, and the glass fell very low — especially in the sooth — yesterday. Wellington, in common with most parts of the country, was yesterday and to-day troubled with squally westerlies, and considerable rain has fallen. In the south there has been a little snow and the meteorological forecast indicates still more snow and cold, cloudy weather with heavy showers in different parts of the . country. The indications are that the glass will rise during the next 24 to 36 hours.
