Hearne took four wickets for 34 runs and Frank Tarrant three for 18. [Kent wins the championship. Last season tho county was third on the list.] GOOD SCORE BY C. MEAD. (Received September 1, 9.55 a.m.) LONDON, 31st August. Playing against Gloucestershire, C. Mead (Hants) scored 171 not out. CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS. (Received September 1, 10 a.m.) LONDON, 31st August. In the championship, Kent was first with 81.48 points, and Yorkshire second, with 70.37. Surrey and Northants fight out for third place. [Yorkshire won the championship Jast year with & percentage of 72.00, Northants being second, with 70.58. Kent's percentage was 65.60.]
