Mr. Beckett, steward of the Westport Coal Company's steamer Canopus, recently m«t with a serious accident at Westport. As he was going aboard the vessel he fell from the wharf or gangway to the steamer's rail, and thence on to the deok. Mr. Beckett was so badly hurt that it was found necessary to remove him to the hospital, where he was found to be suffering from a complicated compound fracture of the left arm, a wound ou the head, and several bruises. IONICXT HOBART. Bound from London to Wellington, via way ports, the Shaw, SavlH'and Albion Company's R.M.S. lonic arrived at Hobart at 6 o'clock on Saturday evening— two days late. Cabled information haß been received stating that the vessel will probably sail on the last stage of her journey this evening./ In that case she should show up here late »n Friday night, and berth at the wharf on Saturday morning. WESTMEATH DUE TO-MORROW. In continuation of her voyage from Liverpool, via way ports, the P. and S. Line's steamer Westmeath sailed from Auckland for Wellington yesterday morning. She ib due here to-morrow afternoon, and after putting out- a part cargo, will sail for southern ports on Friday next to complete discharge. INDRALEMA'S PROGRAMME. Due here on Thursday next from Auckland and Napier to complete discharge of her London cargo the Tyser liner Indralema will sail on Sunday next for Bluff to commence Homeward loading. She afterwards visits Lyttelton, and then comes back to this port, being due here about the 16th test. After loading, she will proceed to Napier and Auckland, sailing finally for London from the latter port about the 23rd inst. RfiMTJERA LEAVES TENBRIPPB. The New Zealand Shipping Company's R.M.S. Rerauera. which sailed from Wellington on the -24th July for London, via way ports, arrived •at Teneriffo at noon on Wednesday last, and continued her voyage at 7 p.m. the same day. fhe is due at her destination to-morrow. WITHIN WIRELESS CALL. / The following vessels will probably be within wireless range this evening :— Aparima, Moeraki, Marama, Manuka, Maitai, Riverina, Tofua, Warrimoo, Wahine, and lonic. The Clan Jiner Clan McLeod, which has been discharging hardwood at Wellington, took her departure for Auckland on Saturday. After completing discharge at the northern port the vessel will proceed to New Caledonia, where she will load chrome ore for Europe. The Kumara, which is taking the Homeward run of the R.M.S. Tainui, arrived hi port yesterday from Auckland to complete loading. SBheS Bhe is timed to sail for London, via way ports, pn Thursday next.
