UNIVERSITY TEAMS MEET Something good was expected as the result of the meeting between the Victoria College and Otago University elevens to-day, but it did not eventuate. The game took place at Duppa-street, and, despite the rain last night and this morning, the, ground was in very good condition. ■ Victoria College had the better of the argument in the first spell, the forwards working with more combination than in the case of the visitors. Only on© goal (that by G. Strack) was obtained in the first half, and the score at the interval was I—o1 — 0 in favour of the local men. Otago were more prominent in the second spell, and might easily have beaten their opponents had their work in the circle .been 7 better. As it was, they obtained two goals (both by W. Bannerman, half-back), while Wellington succeeded in bringing their tally up to three. Both the additional goals were secured by G. Strack. Messrs. Manning and Gendall were the referees.
