MOUNTAIN TRAGEDY YOUNG MAN SHOOTS ANOTHER
AFTER A QUARREL 'A CONFESSION, (By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright.) (Received August 30, 9.55 a.m.) HOBART, This Day. A young man named Alfred Britton reported to the police that while he and another young man, Charles Jones, were hunting on Mount Fanlkner on Wednesday last Jones accidentally shot himself. Britton has now confessed that he shot Jones. He stated that v after hunting all the morning, the pair made another start in the afternoon, when a dispute arose about who was to Use a double-barrelled gun. Jones clicked the hammer of the gun at Britton, and the latter pointed his gun and pulled the trigger. Jones fell dead. Britton declares that he did not Jknow the gun was loaded.
