Waihi Grand Junction. — The following cablegram has been sent to the head office, London : — "Empire lode, No. 6 level, east drive at 785 ft east has <vncountered the main fault fissure. The fault has thrown the ore body 100 ft more to the south. At a distance of 807 ft, diagonally, passed through an ore body 7ft wide. I estimate tHere is 60ft more to drive to reatfh the eastern ore body." Waihi G.M.Co.— In the quarterly circular, dated 22nd July, the* corrected returns to 15th March are given. For the period from 18th January to 15th March the actual realisation of the returns over those previously cabled re presents an increase of £3493, and brings the total value of the bullion' won from the mine to date to £10,306,734 Waitangi Consolidated —At the intermediate level the rise on No 1 leader is up 12ft. The leader averages 6in, and shows dabs of telluride but no free gold. A few feet of No 2 leader broken down shows daba of free gold. In the drive from the rise at No. 2 intermediate level the quartz is improving, and shows favourable minerals. On the footwall aide in the drive west on No. 4 Beach level there is a slight improvement, the reef being 3ffc in width. In ' ruing frotn tho drive on the western end of No. 4 level, a strong body of ore was met with. The rise was put up sft, and when the quartz was shot down nice dabs of gold were seen.
