ROSE AND SWEET PEA SHOW
TO BE HELD IN WELLINGTON. The National Sweet Pea Society and the Wellington Rose and Carnation Club are combining their shows thiß year, and will provide an interesting display in the Town Hall, Wellington, on 10th December. Exhibits will bo staged frotn practically all parts of New Zealand. Both societies' schedules will be comprehensive, the National Society's including over £100 worth of trophies. Tho two executives will work in combination, Messrs. H. A. Fox and J. E. S. Lord acting as joint secretaries for both.
Bishop Ayerill, who has been offered the Bishopric of Auckland, arrived In Wellington last night. Mr. P. F. Mason, who has been on Messrs. David Anderson and Co.'c staff for the past thirty-four years, has resigned from the service on account of ill-health. Yesterday afternoon the employees of the firm entertained Mr. and Mrs. Mason at Godber's rooms, Cubastreet. Mr. J. Slack, on behalf of the staff, presented Mr. Mason with an illuminated address and a purse of sovereigns. Various toasts were drunk Cheers for Mr. and Mrs. Mason concluded a very.fdeasant function. j
