A HEARTY RECEPTION
Yesterday afternoon Archbishop O'Shea visited the Marist Brothers' School, Tasman-street. He was met at the main entrance by the brothers, who welcomed him, and by the pupils, who were massed in readiness to give his Grace a cordial reception. The director (Bro. Basil), after a few preliminary remarks regarding the fact that the distinguished visitor was one of the first boys taught by the brothers in New Zealand, called upon E. Murray to read an address of Welcome and congratulation, at the close of which A. Griffin presented the Archbishop with a set of gloves for use in pontifical ceremonies. The Archbishop thanked the Marist Brothers for the great services they were rendering to the cause of primary education throughout the Dominion, expressed his gratitude and indebtedness to them for his own early training, thanked the boys for their handsome gift, counselled tftem to make good use of their opportunities by being studious and obedient, and obtained for them a holiday.
