MR. ROCKEFELLER'S BIRTHDAY

Mr. John Rockefeller, the " Oil King," celebrated his 74th birthday on Bth July at Cleveland, Ohio. The richest man in the world, who is credited with possessing a fortune of over £100,000,000, spent the day quietly at his country home at Forest Hill, where he received hundreds of messages of congratulation from personal and business friends. In the afternoon he played a round of golf, and did the nine-hole course on his private estate in a score of under 50. Dr. Biggar, who has been his physician for many years, declares that the "Oil King's ' health is better than it has been for many years. Two meals a day— one entirely of uncooked fruits, an occasional day of fasting from all foods but fruit, Epsom salt baths frequently, and a few Turkish baths, with vigorous massage, at least every two weeks, are some of the rules Mr. Rockefeller observes for the maintenance of his health.
