In the cricket matches there has been extraordinary scoring throughout the country. Seven centuries in firstclass matches were made to-day. Sayward scored 146 and Hobbs 184 in a first-wicket partnership of 313 for Surrey against Worcestershire. Hobbs in this match completed his 2000 runs in first-class matches this season.
