CAPTAIN DAVIS AT FREMANTBE. . (By Telegraph.— Press Association.- Copyright.) FREMANTLE, 19th August. Captain John K. Davis, commander of ir. Mawso^is Ant-arctic ship Aurora, has arrived at iTremantle by the Orontes. In the course of an interview, Captain Davis said that, provided the Victorian Government kept its promise to dock the Aurora, he would bring the vessel to Melbourne, and if funds were forthcoming he would sail for Adelie Land in November, and hoped to reach Dr. Mawson'a base m December. He collected £3000 in England, out of £10,000 required, and this amount was needed, firstly, for fitting out the Aurora, but mainly for publishing the investigations.
