IN TOUCH WITH H.M.S. NEW ZEALAND MESSAGE AND A REPLY, (■1 TILXeBAPH— SraGIAL TO THX TOWt.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Communication with H.M.S. New Zealand is still practicable, for she was within range of the Auckland wireless station on Sunday, and during the next few days her powerful apparatus, will still be heard at work. At noon on Sunday the battle-cruiser reported her position as lat. 13.46 south, long. 177.23 we3t. This coincides with a position about midway between Fiji aud Ellice Islands, and is almost 1400 miles due north of Auckland. Probably the last message received from New Zealanders by the warship wa3 transmitted from the R.M.S. Niagara when that vessel was on her way from Vancouver to Auckland on 29th June. A party of residents of the Dominion sent the fol* lowing message : "Captain Btalsey, .H.M.S. New Zealand. Warmest greetings from loyal New Zealanders on R.M.S. Niagara." A reply was received immediately as follows: "New Zealanders, it.M.S. Nigara. Very many thanks for your very kind signals. We are not in the best of spirits after leaving the hospitable shores of New Zealand. Captain Halsey."
